Why does Gif4Mac ask for Screen Recording permission?
macOS requires it for any app that captures the screen. Allow Gif4Mac under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then reopen the app. The recording never leaves your Mac.
Where are my GIFs saved?
In ~/Documents/Gif4Mac. macOS asks you to grant access to that folder the first time you export.
What is free and what is paid?
Capture and plain GIF export are free. Annotations (text, arrows, blur) are a one-time in-app purchase, with a 7-day trial that starts the first time you annotate.
How do I restore my purchase on another Mac?
Sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore purchase in the app. Purchases are handled by Apple.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 60 seconds at 10 frames per second, which keeps GIFs a reasonable size.
